Katya Dobinson is an emerging leader in the next generation of young Australians engaged with and passionate about China and Asia. Having grown up in Hong Kong, Katya has immersed herself in the language and culture. She has studied Mandarin throughout her schooling life and graduated from the University of Technology, Sydney with a Bachelor in Global Studies, majoring in Legal Studies and Chinese Language and Culture. During her time at university, Katya spent one year studying Mandarin at the University of Nottingham in Ningbo and the Beijing Language and Culture University. Before joining Think Global, Katya completed internships at Austrade in Guangzhou, Asialink Business in Sydney, Opportunity International Australia in Sydney and Thirst4Water in Beijing. She has also been extremely active in the Australia-China Youth Association (ACYA), holding key organisational roles for their keystone HOME showcase event in 2013 and National Conference in 2014 and fulfilled the role of President at UTS’ ACYA chapter.
Katya has brought her experiences, language skills and passion for China to Think Global where she manages a wide range of responsibilities managing marketing projects, consulting for Australian clients, organising business missions and writing articles and blogs. Katya hopes to build on her already deep knowledge of the Australia-China relationship and lead the next generation of Australians building bridges with China.
