David Thomas

David Thomas, CEO of Think Global Consulting, is highly respected in Australia for his experience, credibility and passion for identifying, building and facilitating business and investment relationships between developed and emerging countries. 

David’s career spans 25 years in three major cities (London, Hong Kong and Sydney) with experience in financial services, wealth management, strategic planning, marketing communications, education and training. He has had success as an entrepreneur (having set up, run and sold three businesses) as a consultant to financial services organisations, and has also held senior roles in large institutions.

David’s Asian experience and network began in 1987 when he moved to Hong Kong from London to set up his own financial services business, which rapidly grew from a start-up company to a respected and credible provider of independent and objective financial planning advice to the investment community in Hong Kong. In 1995, David left Hong Kong and moved to Australia where he has held a number of roles in large and small organisations and is now fully immersed in the movement of business, investment, trade and information that flows between Australia and Asia.

As the CEO of Think Global Consulting, David Thomas is intimately involved in Australia’s attempts to engage with Asia for business purposes, particularly with China, India and Hong Kong, including:

• Conducting presentations, seminars and workshops on doing business and cross cultural exchange with China, India and other Asian countries
• Running workshops, business delegations and study tours focused on opportunities in Hong Kong, China, India and other parts of Asia
• Organising leadership programs, conferences, exhibitions and other events in China and other Asian countries
• Hosting business leaders from China and other Asian countries on visits to Australia for educational, relationship building and business development purposes
• Developing joint ventures and business alliances, building networks and relationships, and facilitating introductions and contacts for individuals and businesses.
